Thank-you 2015-2016 Ice Fishing Season

2015-2016 Ice Fishing Season has come to an end! Dale and I decided to end our season after we received the 10 inches of snowfall. Of course the temps dropped and we went back and forth and decided to stay with our decision to end.
Just want to send out a HUGE THANK-YOU to everyone we spent time with this ice fishing season.
We were definitely rookies! We took on a lot this year. We made mistakes.
Our apologies to those of you we may have offended.
It is big changes for everyone. That happens when you change ownership and the old way’s are gone. Nothing stay’s the same. We will work on improving, learning from out mistakes and take good care of all who come join us here this wonderful area of Lake of the Woods.
We are so Thank-ful for everyone whether you stayed with us in our Sleeper or Day Houses, came through our Lake Access, came and visited us at the house, and even passing on our name to a friend. You have touch our life’s in so many way’s. We wouldn’t be here without you. So hat’s off to you. THANK-YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

Ice condition update 3/16/2016

Checking ice conditions again today!

Saying 4-7 inches?!

this was at 10:00 a.m. The ground is completely white now!  Will report again later today after we had out on the lake and see what the conditions are.

Yesterday we drilled several holes from a bit out of the shoreline and half way to Twin Rocks. We also went down the road towards Gull Rock a little bit.   Half filled up with water.  We see quite a bit of honeycomb ice on top.  We found 17  and 18 inches of ice.

Today will decide if we keep the access open or not.

Stay tuned

and Winter Lake Access

Sunday 3/13/16 *Ice conditions, winter lake access, fishing report*

Sunday 3/13/16 *Ice conditions, winter lake access, fishing report*

Ice condition’s remain the same believe it or not. We measured from shore to the sleepers 20-28 inches of good ice in the area’s where we are traveling and fishing.
Fishing report- good fishing on and off through out the day. Sometimes it is real good in the AM and other times afternoon and then there is a day or two in there where it was consistent through the whole day. There was a couple walleye, mostly sauger, few Burbit, Perch, and even a couple Tulipee’s.
Just cleaned 29 fish for the Barnes family. The Schutlz’s group were cleaning fish each night we stopped by for the evening. The Girl’s have fish in their bucket and are hitting it hard before they have to leave today. Troy’s group of guy’s have been having a blast between the Sleeper and the day house and just drilling holes and sitting on a bucket enjoying the nice weather.
They enjoyed a few meals of fish and shared their burbit with other sleepers so they could experience “Poor man’s Lobster”!!
Great people out here enjoying this beautiful lake “Lake of the Woods!”
Couldn’t do this if it wasn’t for each and everyone of you!! Huge Thank-you to Everyone that we has touch our life’s this ice fishing season.
Will post again in the next day or two with another update. -c-
